The Pirogovo Museum belongs to the category of “open-air museums” and is located on the outskirts of Kiev. The official name of the museum is the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, but the simpler and more descriptive name “Pirogovo Museum” has stuck, associated with the name of the village that existed in this area since the 17th century.
The Pirogovo territory is a hilly area covering 150 hectares, on which there are more than 300 exhibits collected from all over the country.
The Pirogovo Museum will give you the opportunity to stroll through the quiet streets of a unique Ukrainian village, which presents the architectural forms and everyday life of all corners of Ukraine.
Bring a blanket or plaid, take something to eat, and your walk in Pirogovo will turn into a picnic, and you can have a wonderful day in nature surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of an ancient Ukrainian village.
If you have children, take them with you—they will see many interesting and informative things, and the trip to the museum will turn into an exciting family vacation.
In addition to an educational vacation in Pirogovo, you can ride horses and buy souvenirs. For those in love, there is the opportunity to have a wedding ceremony in one of the functioning ancient wooden churches.
Throughout the year, Pirogovo hosts celebrations of Ukrainian holidays and rituals. Choose from the calendar of holidays the atmosphere of which you want to immerse yourself in and come visit us.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Pirogovo Museum (Kyiv) — the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.
